In one powerhouse unit, the TX-NR3007 combines the finesse and flexibility of a ballerina with the balance and brawn of a sumo wrestler. 9.2 audio channels expand the possibilities both for multi-zone playback and for the new surround dimensions of Audyssey DSX and Dolby® Pro Logic® IIz. Advanced networking capability, meanwhile, lets you bring streaming internet radio and PC-based music files into your home entertainment set-up. Digital audio signals are converted by Onkyos VLSC into smooth, noiseless analog waveforms, while selected Audyssey and Dolby technologies maintain a well-balanced frequency response and dynamic range at any volume. Video processing on the TX-NR3007 is also second to none, with 1080p upscaling of any video source via HQV Reon-VX. To witness Onkyos renowned attention to build quality, check out the fully isolated power amp and pre-pro, along with the independent power supplies for system, video, and audio circuitry. In short, if youre serious about building a home entertainment network on the firmest possible foundations, look no further than the TX-NR3007.
Advanced Video Processing and 1080p Upscaling with HQV Reon-VX
HQV Reon-VX is the most sophisticated video-processing chip available for home theatre. It provides the ultimate support for 1080p scaling; for filtering of jaggies and artifacts; and for the reduction of random, mosquito, and block (codec) noise. HQV Reon-VX also enables color region enhancement and the rendering of more than one billion colors.
PC Audio and Internet Radio via Network Function with DLNA 1.5 and Windows 7 Compatibility
As one of Onkyos new breed of receivers that can link directly to the internet or to your home PC via a local network, the TX-NR3007 takes streaming audio and internet radio to a whole new level. MP3, WMA, WMA Lossless, FLAC, WAV, Ogg Vorbis, AAC, and LPCM audio files whether from your PC or from the internetcan now be played back through your main system with unprecedented power and fidelity. The TX-NR3007 brings to life a wide array of internet radio sources, such as Last.fm* and vTuner. As well as being compatible with earlier platforms, the receiver is compatible with Microsofts new Windows 7 platform, which includes the DLNA 1.5-specified Play To media-streaming feature. Another benefit of having the TX-NR3007 connected to the internet is that you can then easily update its firmware.
*Availability depends on region.
Processing 1080p Video and High-Def Surround Sound via HDMI 1.3a*
Incorporating HDMI version 1.3a and advanced processing capabilities, the TX-NR3007 works as a powerful A/V control center. Six rear-side HDMI inputs, along with a convenient front-side one, enable connection of up to seven components, including Blu-ray Disc players, gaming consoles, and set-top boxes. The system can then receive and switch high-definition video signals and send a pristine digital signal to two different output locationsfor example, to two separate high-definition displays. On the audio front, lossless Dolby® TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio provide a bit-for-bit multichannel oundtrack identical to the studio master track. *HDMI version 1.3a supports Deep Color, x.v.Color, LipSync, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, DVD-Audio, Super Audio CD, Multichannel PCM, and CEC.
Audyssey DSX and Dolby® Pro Logic® IIz Add New Dimensions to Surround Sound
The 9.2-channel TX-NR3007 handles two new surround-sound technologies from Audyssey and Dolby that offer exciting new ways to set up the speakers in your home theatre system. Audyssey DSX lets you augment a standard 7.1-channel surround set-up with two front wide channels. Extra speakers, positioned 60° off center, expand the width of the soundstage and help to produce a more realistic and immersive listening experience. Alternatively, Audyssey DSX can be configured to deliver front height channels. These channels carry ambient, nondirectional audio that adds a new vertical dimension to your movies and games. Dolby Pro Logic IIz provides a similar front-height speaker option that likewise works to create a more enveloping home theatre
experience. With Dolby Pro Logic IIz, overhead effects in games and movies are more convincingly located than ever before.
THX® Select2 Plus Certified with THX Loudness PlusTechnology
The ultimate benchmark for home audio performance, THX Ultra2 Plus is specified for rooms where the screen-to-seat viewing distance is more than 4 meters and the room volume is 85 cubic meters or greater. To achieve THX Ultra2 Plus certification, the TX-NR3007 must meet the worlds most demanding standards for home theatre audio quality and performance, and must play at reference volume levels with minimal distortion.
THX Loudness Plus is a volume control technology included in THX Ultra2 Plus that compensates for the tonal and spatial shifts that occur when the volume level is lowered. It automatically adjusts the levels of ambient sound and bass frequencies, so you can enjoy the true impact of movies, music, and games no matter what volume setting you use.
Tailor Multichannel Audio to Your Home with Audyssey and Dolby Technologies
The TX-NR3007 is equipped with MultEQ XT, Audysseys most powerful room-correction technology. MultEQ XT gathers frequency and time-domain
measurements from up to eight positions in the listening area, to deliver a clear, well-balanced, and natural sound. Two other Audyssey technologies,
Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume, work to optimize frequency response and dynamic range at all volume levels. In a similar vein, Dolby® Volume
performs independent loudness adjustments to different frequencies and channels to produce a listening experience that includes all the dynamics of
the original mix. It also offers the option of maintaining playback volume at the same user-chosen level across all input sources.
ISF (Image Science Foundation) Video Calibration for Accurate Video Reproduction
The TX-NR3007 is equipped with industry-leading ISF (Imaging Science Foundation) video calibration to dramatically improve your home theatre by enabling you to adjust the brightness, hue, contrast, saturation, and gamma levels on all video inputs. Transforming your A/V receiver into a video hub, this function ensures that every video source is independently calibrated for your connected high-definition display. Whats more, ISF video calibration has been shown to improve energy savings in displays and projectors by up to 50%.
Independent Power Supplies and Isolated Pre-Processor/Amplifier Construction
To prevent the fluctuating power demands of different sections of circuitry from interfering with one another, the TX-NR3007 features independent power supplies for the audio and video sections, as well as for the rest of the system. Furthermore, the TX-NR3007s power amp block and pre-amp are perfectly isolated. The power amp employs highly efficient push-pull amplification, whereby one output device amplifies the positive half of the waveform and another the negative half. Any distortion that might occur through this process is largely eliminated by three-stage inverted Darlington circuitry.
VLSC (Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry) and Burr-Brown 192 kHz/24-Bit Audio DACs
The TX-NR3007 features Onkyos proprietary high-end digital-to-analog conversion circuitryVLSCto mitigate signal noise. It also employs Burr-Brown 192
kHz/24-bit audio DACs (PCM1796), for all channels and for non-scaling configuration circuitry. These DACs use an advanced Texas Instruments architecture to improve tolerance to clock jitter and achieve an excellent dynamic performance.
