Incorporating HDMI version 1.3a and advanced processing capabilities, the TX-NR3007 works as a powerful A/V control center. Six rear-side HDMI inputs, along with a convenient front-side one, enable connection of up to seven components, including Blu-ray Disc players, gaming consoles, and set-top boxes. The system can then receive and switch high-definition video signals and send a pristine digital signal to two different output locations—for example, to two separate high-definition displays. The 9.2-channel TX-NR3007 handles two new surround-sound technologies from Audyssey and Dolby that offer exciting new ways to set up the speakers in your home theatre system. Audyssey DSX lets you augment a standard 7.1-channel surround set-up with two “front wide” channels. Extra speakers, positioned 60° off center, expand the width of the soundstage and help to produce a more realistic and immersive listening experience. Alternatively, Audyssey DSX can be configured to deliver “front height” channels. These channels carry ambient, nondirectional audio that adds a new vertical dimension to your movies and games. measurements from up to eight positions in the listening area, to deliver a clear, well-balanced, and natural sound. Two other Audyssey technologies,
Dynamic EQ™ and Dynamic Volume™, work to optimize frequency response and dynamic range at all volume levels. In a similar vein, Dolby® Volume

Independent Power Supplies and Isolated Pre-Processor/Amplifier Construction
To prevent the fluctuating power demands of different sections of circuitry from interfering with one another, the TX-NR3007 features independent power supplies for the audio and video sections, as well as for the rest of the system. Furthermore, the TX-NR3007’s power amp block and pre-amp are perfectly isolated. The power amp employs highly efficient “push-pull” amplification, whereby one output device amplifies the positive half of the waveform and another the negative half. Any distortion that might occur through this process is largely eliminated by three-stage inverted Darlington circuitry.
VLSC™ (Vector Linear Shaping Circuitry) and Burr-Brown 192 kHz/24-Bit Audio DACs
The TX-NR3007 features Onkyo’s proprietary high-end digital-to-analog conversion circuitry—VLSC—to mitigate signal noise. It also employs Burr-Brown 192
kHz/24-bit audio DACs (PCM1796), for all channels and for non-scaling configuration circuitry. These DACs use an advanced Texas Instruments architecture to improve tolerance to clock jitter and achieve an excellent dynamic performance.
